Film poster development--- Idea 1

To create the first film poster idea I decided to take 3 images and input two faces on to the other picture. The pictures which I decided to crop and change were the two pictures either side of this paragraph. The reason why I decided to merge these two pictures to recreate a new photo was because within the two pictures we are showing two very different emotions of bravery and fear, with the characters optimism seeping through their eyes it was a perfect example for our film poster as this is what will attract the target audience. From the picture on the left I cropped out my face and transported it to another photo by using the polygonal lasso tool on Photoshop. I also did the same steps with the picture on the right, but with the picture on the right i only selected Jessica's face from the photo. By doing this i then inserted the two faces onto another photo of Emma standing in the middle with a grassy area surrounding her- which still linked in with the genre of the film.  Then by merging the faces and changing the opacity and location of them I was able to make mine and Jessica's face slightly transparent which came from inspiration from the film poster of Pearl Harbour. The finished poster is below;

  1. WWW: Excellent use of technology here Laura, your knowledge of Photoshop has allowed you to develop some interesting ideas. Your group will have a number of choices for your final piece which is a good position to be in at this stage.

    EBI: Next time, evaluate what message this poster delivers to your target audience. Are you still trying to target a predominantly male audience or have you considered that your marketing technique may be more appropriate for females?
